Vor kurzem ging eine neue Jobanzeige bei Apple online. Gesucht wir ein Designer für Front-End Oberflächen im Web. In der Job Summary ist der Rede von einem neuen geheimen Projekt, welches die Welt verändern könnte. Im Titel der Jobanzeige ist allerdings wieder die Rede von „Maps“. Wenn man nun 1 und 1 zusammenzählt, wird man schnell herausfinden, was man unter dem neuen Geheimprojekt verstehen kann: Apple Maps wird den Weg ins Internet finden.

Ähnlich wie Google Maps kann man eine Web-Service erwarten, der es erlaubt auch über den Browser Apple Maps zu verwenden. Dies würde dann auch ermöglichen, dass Windows-Nutzer in den Genuss von Apple Maps kommen könnten. Ob sie das möchten, ist wieder eine andere Frage.

You would be joining a small team working on an advanced web platform upon which many of Apple’s future services will be based. We are looking for an extremely capable front-end engineer who has a strong background in web services development, and who has built high-performance, scalable and extensible systems. In this highly visible position, the successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define and implement some of the web pages for the system that will power next generation Apple products.
