Vor wenigen Sekunden wurde bekannt, dass Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer den Konzern innerhalb der nächsten 12 Monate verlassen wird.

Nach nun mehr als 13 Jahren verlässt Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer den Konzern. 2000 hatte Ballmer die Führung übernommen. Heute bestätigte Microsoft offiziell, dass Ballmer das Unternehmen innerhalb der nächsten 12 Monate verlassen wird. Ein Nachfolger steht nicht fest.

Auf der Microsoft News Webseite schreibt Ballmer:

“There is never a perfect time for this type of transition, but now is the right time, we have embarked on a new strategy with a new organization and we have an amazing Senior Leadership Team. My original thoughts on timing would have had my retirement happen in the middle of our company’s transformation to a devices and services company. We need a CEO who will be here longer term for this new direction.”

Microsoft-Gründer Bill Gates schreibt:

“As a member of the succession planning committee, I’ll work closely with the other members of the board to identify a great new CEO,” said Gates. “We’re fortunate to have Steve in his role until the new CEO assumes these duties.”

Die Börse reagierte positiv. Der Aktienkurs stieg um fast vier Zehn Prozent. Ich sehe diese Entwicklung ebenfalls überwiegend positiv, schließlich ist die Microsoft-Welt nicht gerade rosig, schaut man sich doch einmal den Erfolg von Windows Phone, Windows 8 oder den Surface Geräten an.
